A carpenter carrying lumber with both hands before sunrise, a wide wash of light from the headlamp on his forehead

A flashlight shows a spot. This shows the job.

A normal headlamp makes a tunnel. You chase it with your head. Arc lights the whole width in front of you — engine bay, shelf, trail edge. Look anywhere.

  • A 230° bar for everything up close
  • A separate spotlight when you need distance
  • High and low on both
  • Lies flat, no lamp sticking off your forehead
A greasy gloved hand waving in front of the headlamp in a garage, the light bar just lit

Greasy hands.Wave it on.

Gloves on. Grease to the wrist. You don't hunt for a switch — you wave a hand past the sensor and the light answers. Wave again. Off.

  • Wave once: on. Wave again: off
  • The sensor has its own button
  • Switch it off for close work under a car
  • The regular buttons still work
The headlamp charging from a USB port on a pickup truck console at dawn

No batteries.Just a cable.

No AAAs dying at the worst moment. Arc charges over USB — in the truck, at the wall, off a power bank. 2.5 ounces. You forget it's on.

  • USB charging, cable in the box
  • Up to 8 hours on low
  • Adjustable band: bare head, cap, beanie, hard hat
  • 2.5 oz on your head

I frame houses and we start before the sun is up

I frame houses and we start before the sun is up. I used to prop my phone on a sawhorse and work in my own shadow. This lights everything in front of me, edge to edge, and both hands stay on the lumber. Half my crew has one now.

I do my own brakes and oil

I do my own brakes and oil. Holding a flashlight in my teeth was the old system. This sits flat and lights the whole wheel well. One tip: under the car, switch the wave sensor off, because turning your head can trigger it. The buttons work fine.

    I deliver packages at night

I deliver packages at night. A box under one arm, the scanner in the other hand, and I was tripping on steps I couldn't see. I wave it on at the truck and it lights the whole walkway. It weighs nothing. I forget I'm wearing it.

I have a horse, and in winter I'm out there before daylight and again after dark

I have a horse, and in winter I'm out there before daylight and again after dark. This lights up the whole yard, and the side spotlight reaches the far fence. I bought the second one for my brother, who keeps it in his truck.

The power went out during a storm and my husband went

The power went out during a storm and my husband went for the breaker box wearing this. I'd laughed when it arrived. He fixed it with both hands while I held nothing. There's one in the kitchen drawer now and one in his toolbox.

    Arc - Wide-Beam Headlamp

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How bright is it?

Bright enough to light a whole engine bay or a campsite from one side to the other. The wide bar is for close work. The spotlight reaches farther when you need distance.

How does the wave sensor work?

Press the sensor button once to arm it. After that, wave a hand past the sensor, at the side of the lamp, to turn the light on or off. Press the button again to switch the sensor off — useful under a car, where turning your head can trigger it.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 8 hours on low. On high, plan on a few hours, then recharge. It charges over USB, and the cable is in the box.

    Does it take batteries?

No. It's rechargeable. Nothing to buy, nothing to swap.

Will it fit over a hard hat or a beanie?

Yes. The band is elastic and adjustable, so it fits a bare head, a cap, a beanie or a hard hat.

    Is it heavy?

No. About 2.5 ounces, and it lies flat on your forehead instead of sticking out.

Can the bar and the spotlight be on together?

No. You pick one or the other.

    Is there a strobe?

Yes. Hold the power button for three seconds.

Can I use it in the rain?

It isn't rated for water. Keep it out of heavy rain and don't submerge it.

    What's in the box?

In the box: 1 Arc headlamp and a USB charging cable.

Does it come in other colors?

    Black only.

    What's the warranty?

    One year.

    How fast does it ship?

    Orders leave within 24 hours.

What if it doesn't work for me?

    60 days, full refund.
